Studio Drop In
Makers with some experience looking for the next step
Are you a budding potter, with a little experience, who wants to work on their own practice, but wouldn’t mind having a tutor on hand to answer those curly questions? Open studio sessions are designed for you.
Take advantage of our fully equipped studio to discover your creativity.
Below are the booking calendars for both our WHEEL and HANDBUILDING sessions, please make sure you select the correct class you are interested in.
+ Length and structure
Our 3 hour studio sessions are only available to those who are able to work independently and safely within the studio, but want the help of a teacher if needed. Participants must be familiar with tools and proficient use of clay or wheels. While clay must be purchased separately, our helpful teachers will show you how to reuse your clay to get the most out of it, and answer any questions you may have.
+ Required learning
It is required that you have completed a four or six week course in your chosen discipline (wheel or handbuilding).
+ How long can you leave your work in the studio
As we can only keep work for 6 weeks after they come out of the kiln, please ensure that you book your classes less than 6 weeks apart.
+ What to bring
Students MUST bring a clear plastic storage container to store your pieces in the studio, otherwise we cannot store them.
+ Cost of firing
All pieces must go through two firings (bisque & glaze). We fire at a cost of $15/kg PER firing
Firing costs will be paid upon pickup of final pieces.
Any pieces being glazed in an open studio MUST have been made in a previous open studio (we cannot fire any outside made work)
