For those ready to immerse themselves in the foundations of wheel throwing.

During this six-week ceramics course you're going to ground yourself with a foundation of wheel thrown pottery. 

+ Structure

Similar to the four week course, in the first two weeks we’ll cover centring and clay manipulation in order to throw a few successful pieces. 

In week three we cover trimming; removing ribbons of clay to finish off our pieces. 

Weeks four and five are back to making!  We find now you’ve had a few tries and run through the entire process, you start to actually get the hang of it in these weeks. You'll now be confident enough in throwing to get a few more weeks of practice in, adding more pieces to your collection.

In week six, we come together for a glazing session to turn our masterpieces into fully functional ceramics.  

+ Lesson length

Classes are 2 hrs long, and sessions run for six consecutive weeks. Same day, same time.

Can't make all 6 classes consecutively? We can offer make up classes with our Flexi Class option, so there is no stress if something comes up!

+ No experience required

This course is ideal for both inexperienced potters (no experience necessary!) through to those who've had a few lessons, but need a refresher to improve their technique.  it's a great 'next step' for those who have taken our four week introduction course.

Wanting to keep moving forward in your ceramic journey? We recommend taking this introductory course at least twice before moving onto our Continuers Course. 

+ How do I book

Please note: only the FIRST date of the session is listed on our booking calendar below.  You only need to book in for  the first date of the session and you will be automatically signed up for all 6 consecutive weeks. 

+ Payment plans & Students

We understand that it is sometimes hard to have the upfront money for courses so we do offer payment plans for our courses. Just email us at hello@claywollongong.com and we can set you up. 

We offer student discounts to those who hold a current, valid Australian student ID card. Courses are reduced to $300 for the 6 weeks.  Use code STUDENT6W

. Please note; you MUST present your valid student ID on the first lesson of your course otherwise you will have to pay the difference of the course.
