Six Week Wheel Throwing Course - Introduction
For those ready to immerse themselves in the foundations of wheel throwing.
During this six-week ceramics course you're going to ground yourself with a foundation of wheel thrown pottery.
+ Structure
Similar to the four week course, in the first two weeks we’ll cover centring and clay manipulation in order to throw a few successful pieces.
In week three we cover trimming; removing ribbons of clay to finish off our pieces.
Weeks four and five are back to making! We find now you’ve had a few tries and run through the entire process, you start to actually get the hang of it in these weeks. You'll now be confident enough in throwing to get a few more weeks of practice in, adding more pieces to your collection.
In week six, we come together for a glazing session to turn our masterpieces into fully functional ceramics.
+ Lesson length
Classes are 2 hrs long, and sessions run for six consecutive weeks. Same day, same time.
Please ensure you can attend ALL six consecutive dates, as we cannot offer make-up classes or switches.
+ No experience required
This course is ideal for both inexperienced potters (no experience necessary!) though to those who've had a few lessons, but need a refresher to improve their technique. it's a great 'next step' for those who have taken our four week introduction course.
+ How do I book
Please note: only the FIRST date of the session is listed on our booking calendar below. You only need to book in for the first date of the session and you will be automatically signed up for all 6 consecutive weeks.
(Reminder: Please ensure you can attend ALL six consecutive dates, as we cannot offer make-up classes or switches. )
