Wheel program

In our 5 weeks on the wheel we will work on individually making 5 pots that the student will glaze at the end of the course. Students will also work on a group project to save some of their unwanted pots that will go towards a group sculpture project.

Handbuilding program 

The theme of Term 4 will be sea creatures. Students will make their creature and also paint ceramic tiles.

Week 10: GLAZING

Note: Kids will need to wear casual clothes and shoes as they will get messy.

 

Benefits of clay making for children 

Clay offers numerous benefits to the development of children. It enhances fine and gross motor skills and it provides rich sensory experiences through tactile exploration and stimulation. Language skills improve through descriptive language and storytelling.  Overall, clay making supports comprehensive physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
