Come and get muddy with Clay Wollongong at The Rumpus Room this Summer

This Summer Clay Wollongong and The Rumpus Room are teaming up to present a series of community ceramic handbuilding workshops and creative pop-up experiences. Set in the newly opened Rumpus Room in Thirroul - a vibrant space dedicated to creativity and collaboration - the program invites participants to slow down, get messy and explore clay in a relaxed, social setting. 

+ What you will make

These sessions are based off Clay Wollongong's famous Clay & Sip classes where you will make two unique items using a pinch pot and slab technique. The pinch pot method will result in something like a little olive dish or dip bowl and you'll be able to make your very own cup using the slab technique. 
After your class, we’ll glaze them in a white gloss glaze and fire them for you, and have them ready for pickup approximately 4 weeks later.

Once fired and glazed, your pieces will be completely functional.  Perfect for the microwave, or dishwasher.

What will your piece look like? It might be a bit ‘organic’ and ‘perfectly imperfect’ but it will be 100% handmade by you. All finished off in a white gloss glaze applied by our expert studio technicians so your piece will be fully functional and ready to use.
