For those wanting to extend their knowledge and continue their journey of the foundations of wheel throwing.

During this six-week ceramics course you're going to ground yourself with new skills of wheel thrown pottery lead by the highly experienced thrower, Naomi Eburn. 

Naomi has over 10 years of experience working with clay and specialises in Production Throwing on the wheel where she is inspired constantly to refine her skills through repetition. Originally hailing from Armidale, NSW, Naomi is now a Wollongong local and spends her time creating art,  and working as one of our highly coveted tutors here at Clay Wollongong. 

+ Structure

This course has a focus on compression and getting bigger with punch centering bigger balls of clay. 

Week one - We will design and throw a series of plates focusing on compression techniques. 

Week two - We design and throw a series of large serving bowls focusing on punch centering. 

Week three and four - Continue our project with looking at section attachment 

Week five - trim and finish project 

Week six - we come together for a glazing session to turn our masterpieces into fully functional ceramics.  

+ Lesson length

Classes are 2 hrs long, and sessions run for six consecutive weeks. Same day, same time.

Can't make all 6 classes consecutively? We can offer make up classes with our Flexi Class option, so there is no stress if something comes up!

+ Experience required

This course is designed for those with a foundational level of experience with wheel throwing.  It is not designed for beginners.

It's a perfect next step for those who have taken our four week or six week introduction  wheel throwing course.

+ How do I book

Please note: only the FIRST date of the session is listed on our booking calendar below.  You only need to book in for  the first date of the session and you will be automatically signed up for all 6 consecutive weeks. 

+ Booking multiple tickets or using a Gift Voucher?

If booking with multiple Gift Vouchers, only one voucher can be used per booking.

+ Payment plans & Students

We understand that it is sometimes hard to have the upfront money for courses so we do offer payment plans for our courses. Just email us at hello@claywollongong.com and we can set you up. 

We offer student discounts to those who hold a current, valid Australian student ID card. Courses are reduced to $300 for the 6 weeks.  Use code STUDENT6W .Please note; you MUST present your valid student ID on the first lesson of your course otherwise you will have to pay the difference of the course.
