Six Week Wheel Throwing Course - Step Two
For those ready to take their wheel throwing skills to the next level
This class is ideal for those with a foundational knowledge of wheel throwing, who are interested in expanding their skills and experience. We'll experiment with larger sizes, and new techniques.
+ Structure
Similar to the six week introduction course, in the first two weeks we’ll revisit throwing and centring, with a focus on manipulating your clay into larger pieces.
In week three we cover trimming; removing ribbons of clay to finish off our pieces.
Weeks four and five are back to throwing, this time with a focus on creating larger, more complex pieces. We find now you’ve had a few tries and run through the entire process, you start to actually get the hang of it in these weeks. You'll now be confident enough in throwing to get a few more weeks of practice in, adding more pieces to your collection.
In week six, we come together for a glazing session to turn our masterpieces into fully functional ceramics.
+ Lesson length
Classes are 2 hrs long, and sessions run for six consecutive weeks. Same day, same time.
Please ensure you can attend ALL six consecutive dates, as we cannot offer make-up classes or switches.
+ Foundational experience required
This course is designed for those with a foundational level of experience with wheel throwing. It is not designed for absolute beginners.
It's a perfect next step for those who have taken our four week or six week introduction to wheel throwing course.
+ How do I book
Please note: only the FIRST date of the session is listed on our booking calendar below. You only need to book in for the first date of the session and you will be automatically signed up for all 6 consecutive weeks.
(Reminder: Please ensure you can attend ALL six consecutive dates, as we cannot offer make-up classes or switches. )
